Hanover Baseball: Mid-Season Report

The defending state championship boys baseball team are performing at full strength as they work toward their fourth title in five years. The boys are 10-2, but remain undefeated in the conference, the only two losses coming from out of conference teams (Hickory and Miller). Their latest victory was a 14-1 win over Patrick Henry.

Baseball: Hawks Beat Deep Run

On Monday, March 27, the Hanover boys baseball team beat the Deep Run Wildcats, 9-3. The Hawks scored six runs in the second inning, with three runs batted on a Brian Sisson double. The Hawks used four pitchers in the game (Josh Plummer, Will Lopez, Antonio Balducci, and the returning Jack Dragum). Dragum scored twice

The Hanover Hawks placed four players on the 2016 4A All-State Baseball Team. Named to the first team were Hayden Moore, pitcher, John Gregory, first baseman, Cayman Richardson, shortstop, and Grey Lyttle, designated hitter. The Hanover Hawks received 10 honors on the 2016 4A East All-Region Team. Coach Charlie Dragum was named Coach of the Year. Grey Lyttle was named Player of the Year. Hawks Baseball Regional Champions

Congratulations to the Hanover Baseball Team for winning the Region 4A East Championship. The Hawks won 11-0 over the Jamestown Eagles. The team will move on to the state semifinals on Friday, June 10 at Liberty University. The game is scheduled for 3:00. The Hawks will play either Liberty Christian or Kettle Run.
