The Hanover varsity football team won their final game of the season in a comeback that will be remembered for years. The visiting, Atlee Raiders dominated the first half of the game, running their way to a 19-0 lead. After a senior night halftime ceremony, Hanover reset and began chipping their way back. To start the half, Hanover relied on several jet sweep runs by Chase Flora to set the Hawks up at the Atlee 10 yard line. QB, Levi Huesman found Cole Elrod for the first Hawks touchdown. Atlee would answer with a field goal and would lead Hanover 22-6 with less than seven minutes in the fourth. Levi would complete two passes to Chase and to Cole to set up the second touchdown pass to Cole. Hanover failed on the 2 point conversion but recovered an onside kick to take over at the Atlee 45. Levi would find Charlie Rohr for a 45 yard touchdown. The extra point was good and Hanover trailed 22-19 with 5 minutes left in the game. Hanover’s defense forced Atlee to punt and the Hawks had the ball on their 40 with less than 3 minutes in the game. On a third down play, Levi found Cole for a 65 yard touchdown pass. With the extra point, Hanover took a four point lead with two minutes left to play. Senior, James Kinney would hit the Atlee QB as he threw. Gavin Quinn intercepted the ball and Hanover would run the clock out for the win. QB, Levi Huesman threw four touchdown passes in the game with Cole Elrod catching three of the four. Hanover finishes the season with a 4-2 record. Congratulations to the team, the coaching staff, and to the seniors! Go Hawks!
