Hanover Hawks Swim Team Regional and State Championships
Hanover swim team hosted a great  4B region swim championship at SwimRVA.  Both the boys and girls teams came in 3rd. The team racked up 75 best times amongst all of our swimmers who competed.
Swimmers that got on the podium and/or earned a chance to swim at the state Championships are
Juniors:
Luke Daley  with 1st place finish in 200 Free,  4th place finish in 100 back
Jack Hufner with 3rd place finishes in 50 free and 100 free
Sophmores:
Jacob Eisele with a 4th place finish in the 500 Free, and a 5th place finish in the 200 free.
Ben Schoenwiesner with a 4th place finish in 200 IM
Freshman:
Delaney Childs with a 2nd place finish in 500 Free and a 4th place finish in the 200 free
Two boys relays also got on the podium:
4th place for 200 medley (Luke Daley JR, Alex Destephanis SO, Bobby Culley JR, and Jack Hufner JR)
2nd place for 400 Free (Jack Hufner JR, Ben Schoenweisner SO, Luke Daley JR, and Jacob Eisele SO)
The girls 400 free relay (Natalie Culley SO, Caroline Blaser JR, Claire Grant SR, and Delaney Childs FR) brought home first place!
The team also added Henry Atkinson FR, Bobby Culley JR, Alex DeStephanis SO and  Daniel Richardson JR to their states team to compete in the medley relay.
At the VHSL Class 4 State Championship at SwimRVA on February 15th, 2019, The Hawks had several swimmers and relays come back to finals.
Luke Daley placed 7th in 200 free and 5th in 100 back and broke the HHS school record in the 200 free (1:45.82).
Jack Hufner placed 10th in 50 Free (22.02) and 9th in 100 Free (48.55) and broke the HHS school records with both of his swims.
Both of the boy’s relays (200 free and 400 free) consisting of Ben Schoenweisner, Jacob Eisele, Luke Daley, and Jack Hufner, finished 9th.
The girl’s 400 free relay (Natalie Culley SO, Caroline Blaser JR, Claire Grant SR, and Delaney Childs FR) finished 13th but broke the Hanover High School record with a time of 3:50.21.
