On Tuesday night, the Hanover girls volleyball varsity team defeated Atlee High School 3-1 in a closely contested match. Atlee down 2-1 won the third set to force a fourth set. Atlee is currently the top ranked team in the RVA Sports Super 7 Poll. Hanover is ranked third in the same poll. Senior, Kylie Tuxford recorded her 1000th kill during the game. In volleyball, a kill is recorded when a player’s attack is not returnable by the other team and leads directly to a point or loss of serve for the other team. Hanover’s only loss of the season was to Atlee on Sept. 19. The Hawks have won six in a row since the Atlee loss and seek to finish strong with five games left in the regular season. Hanover travels to Highland Springs on Oct. 12 for a 7:00 PM game. Go Hawks!
