While most students attended school on Tuesday, the Hanover Hawks golf team competed in the 4B Regional Championship. The competition took place at Mattaponi Springs in Ruther Glen, VA. The results would determine who would advance to the Class 4 State Championships. The Hawks finished second overall in the region with a score of 320, falling only six strokes back to winner, Midlothian. While Hanover did not advance to states as a team, two Hawks qualified individually to compete for a state championship. Senior, Jimmy Hill finished with a +2 (74) to finish second place and freshman, Andrew Wilkinson finished +4 (76) with a fourth place finish. Congratulation to Coach Hoy and the Hanover golf team on a great season! Best of wishes to seniors, Jack Proctor and Bella Seip as they finished their careers with the team. Jimmy Hill and Andrew Wilkinson will compete for the state championship on October 9th and 10th at the Glenrochie Country Club in Abington, Virginia. Come out on Columbus Day to support your Hawks!
