On Friday, April 28, the Hanover boys soccer team beat Patrick Henry in overtime, 2-0. It was also senior night for the Hawks and fittingly, two seniors put the game away for the Hawks. With neither team able to score, the game went into overtime after 10:00 PM. In the first 5 minute overtime period, Connor Gilchrest scored on a penalty kick to take the lead for the Hawks. In the second overtime, Carson Harris scored on another penalty kick to seal the game. The Hawks struggled offensively but played strong defense to keep Patrick Henry from many scoring opportunities. The Hawks welcome Atlee next Friday night for another county showdown.
The boys soccer team celebrated the careers of fifteen seniors before the game. One senior, Jack Montgomery was not in attendance as he was competing in Anaheim, California in a DECA international marketing competition. The seniors are listed below:
